How to read the parent view

What first tries, hints and “Not enough practice yet” mean, and how to choose a next step.

The parent view is not a report card. It answers four questions: what have they practiced, what seems to be getting easier, where did they need help, and what could you try next.

First tries and hints

A first try counts when the answer was right the first time without a hint. Answers that needed another try or a hint are shown separately. Both are good practice.

Why you might see “Not enough practice yet”

We only compare rounds of the same activity at the same difficulty. Until there are at least two comparable rounds, we do not guess at a trend.

Choosing a next step

  • If the last round needed help, another round of the same activity is usually the best next step.
  • If it went smoothly, try a new activity in the same subject.
  • If a topic keeps being tricky, tell us with a lesson request.
