We want every student and parent to be able to use Studying with Dad comfortably, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom, or high-contrast settings.
Our standard
We design and test the site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at Level AA, the second of the three conformance levels. We also meet many Level AAA requirements, such as stronger color contrast (at least 7 to 1 for text), no time limits in activities, and line lengths that are comfortable to read.
What that means in practice
- Every game works with a keyboard and with taps. Dragging is never required.
- Answers and states are shown with words and symbols, not color alone.
- Activities have no timer. Students can save and stop at any time, and their work is kept if they need to sign in again.
- Text can be enlarged to 200% and pages work on screens as narrow as 320 pixels without sideways scrolling.
- Families can turn on reduced motion and larger text for each student. Animations also stop when your device is set to reduce motion.
- A site map lists every page, and links that open a new tab say so.
How we test
Every public page, account page, parent page, student page and game state is checked automatically with the axe accessibility engine at desktop and phone sizes before each release, along with keyboard-only walkthroughs, 200% text zoom, narrow-screen checks and contrast checks. Last full check: October 2026.
Known limits
- We have not yet tested with people who use screen readers every day. We plan to before the public beta.
- Audio instructions are not available yet.
- Our Privacy and Terms pages are written for adults and may be above a lower-secondary reading level. Each starts with a plain-language summary.
Tell us about a barrier
If anything gets in your way, please tell us through the contact page. Include the page, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser and any assistive technology you were using. We will reply and work on a fix.
